Tonight, we end our month long celebration of the past 10 years by looking forward to the next 10 years by welcoming a new resident dj to FUZZ! and member of 412DNB.
Join us as we initiate DJ SUBQ as only we can! He may not even be alive to play his set at the end of the night.
“Darby Hoffman, a.k.a. DJSubQ, has been a student of Drum and Bass for well over a decade, with his first exposure to the genre in coming in ’97 with albums such as Goldie’s Timeless and Roni Size/Reprazent’s New Forms. Mixtapes from that time period helped SubQ develop the way he understood the art of the DJ. Trace, Brockie, Bad Company, DJ Hype, Dieselboy, Alaska, Sine, Bagel – these are the ones that influenced his understanding of how to create an aural environment in a way that is unique only to Drum and Bass. The Steel City has a rich tradition of this music, and as a FUZZ! resident, DJSubQ plans to make himself a part of that tradition as well. Big up Pittsburgh, Big up FUZZ!, and big, big ups to Drum and Bass…”
